Mental Health has a variety of positions for registered nurses/registered
psychiatric nurses, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists,
counsellors, and mental health therapists across the

You will play an
important role in providing evidence-informed assessment, treatment and support
service to Albertans when and where they need them. Through health promotion and
prevention practices, early intervention initiatives and concurrent capable
clinical practices, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving the
health of youth and adults within the Addiction & Mental Health provincial
program.
Addiction &
Mental Health provides crisis, forensics, detox and residential treatment to
adults, youth, children and seniors in a variety of settings – hospital,
emergency departments or outpatient clinics throughout Alberta. As a member of
the Addiction & Mental Health team, you will work with a strong community of
collaboration and innovation, in different practice settings with a variety of
populations.
Many Rivers
Counselling and Support Services Society seeks an experienced Youth Outreach
Counsellor for Whitehorse, Yukon. This is a full time position with
an annual starting salary of $62,464 for a Masters degree and $59,294 for a
Bachelors level. Comprehensive benefits package provided including extended
health, EAP, long term disability, clinical supervision and professional
development plus Yukon Bonus after 2 years of employment and annually
thereafter. Residents eligible for Northern Allowance tax benefits. Relocation
subsidy available. Preference will be given to female candidates due to
clinical requirements for gender balance.
Duties include, but
are not limited to:

Outreach Support
and Advocacy
·
Individual and
Group Clinical Counselling
·
One shift/week on
Outreach Van / Harm Reduction Program
·
Community
Development Facilitation and Education
·
Regular evening
work required and some weekends
The successful
candidate will possess:
- A commitment to respectful team work and excellent cross-discipline collegial relationships
- Clinical robustness, flexibility, physical endurance, and sound professional boundaries
- 3-5 years successful experience working with high risk youth
- Masters degree or appropriate undergraduate degree with extensive clinical experience in Child/Youth Care, Education, Social work or other related discipline.
- Proven skills in youth counselling, group work, outreach and Cognitive Behavior Therapy
- Crisis intervention expertise
- Cultural sensitivity and experience working with First Nations clients and/or Northern communities.

Current membership
in a recognized professional association preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
